Türkçe Gündem: A news platform with an AI pipeline and editorial sign-off

Built from scratch for the Turkish-speaking diaspora in Europe — news, guides, sport and local events on web and iOS.

Türkçe Gündem: A news platform with an AI pipeline and editorial sign-off

Challenge

Turkish-speaking readers in Europe sit between three worlds: local news in the host language, Turkish-language outlets with editorial bias, and social feeds with no verification. There was no independent, ad-light platform that explained European topics in Turkish — and did so with editorial discipline.

Solution

Türkçe Gündem is its own product end to end — web in Next.js, iOS in SwiftUI. A multi-stage pipeline ingests from more than 150 vetted sources, then translates, summarises, deduplicates deterministically and files entries by category, city and country. Related items are linked into running dossiers so a story can be followed as it develops. Alongside the news stream sit durable guides on residence permits, citizenship, family reunification, labour law, health insurance and tax, an events calendar covering 20 major cities, and sports pages with tables, top scorers and match data. The AI proposes — approving, rejecting and quality-flagging stay editorial decisions, and each one is logged.
