Entering Germany

The software side of entering the German market

Registering the company is step one. The real question is whether your product behaves the way a German customer expects: German-language interface, XRechnung-compliant invoicing, a data flow built to GDPR, and hosting in the EU.

OzyCore is a German company registered in Wiesbaden, and the team works in English, German and Turkish. We run the software and digital marketing ourselves; company formation and accounting go through our partner practice, regulated tax work is carried out by a licensed partner firm, and legal questions go to partner law firms.

Three places market entry stalls

Where the software side actually gets stuck

The problem is rarely the product itself. It is the three things the German market quietly assumes.

A German product is not a translated product

Translating the text is not enough. Date and number formats, address and VAT fields, how tax is displayed, the Impressum and cookie consent all have to behave the way a German user expects.

E-invoicing is an integration job, not an accounting detail

XRechnung and ZUGFeRD are file formats. The actual work is producing them correctly from your own system, handing them to accounting and archiving them in an audit-proof way.

Where data is processed is a purchasing criterion

German corporate buyers ask before signing. The accepted answer is not in the cloud but which service runs in which region, shown rather than claimed.

What we build

Four areas, all of which a company entering Germany meets in its first twelve months.

Company formation and accounting

OzyCore does not run this itself; it goes through our partner practice, with regulated tax work carried out by a licensed partner firm. What changes for you is having one contact.

  • Administrative and digital groundwork for formation
  • Ongoing accounting and a working document flow
  • Partner law firms for legal questions

A German-language digital presence

Website and product interface work in German, with the multilingual structure designed in from the start rather than patched on later.

  • German interface and content, not machine translation
  • Technical groundwork for Impressum, privacy notice and cookie consent
  • hreflang and a multilingual structure; this site runs the same way

E-invoicing and system integration

We built our own product for the German e-invoicing obligation, and apply the same approach to your existing flow.

  • ZUGFeRD or XRechnung produced from PDFs, scans and email
  • Handover to accounting and audit-proof archiving
  • Connection to your existing ERP, order or billing system

EU data residency and GDPR architecture

GDPR compliance is an architecture decision taken at the start, not a checkbox at the end: what is processed where, who sees it, when it is deleted.

  • Processing in the Frankfurt region, hosting inside the EU
  • Role-based access with deny-by-default permissions
  • Consent handling kept separate from measurement permissions

Visibility in the German market

Once the product is ready, being found in Germany is the next problem. That side is run by our sister brand OzyCore Studio.

  • Google Business Profile and local visibility
  • Content and advertising aimed at a German audience
  • Creator campaigns for the Turkish-speaking audience in Germany

How we work

Four steps, each of which ends with something concrete you can look at.

  1. 01

    Read the current state

Your product, billing flow and data structure are reviewed against German requirements. The output is a priority order, not a list.

  2. 02

    Riskiest piece first

Usually e-invoicing or data processing. We settle the most expensive mistake first, then plan the rest around it.

  3. 03

    Build and connect

German interface, invoice generation and integrations go live in sequence, each delivered in a state that works on its own.

  4. 04

    Handover and operation

Who owns what, how updates arrive and where each kind of data sits are handed over in writing.

Documented work

We have already done this on our own products

The notes below describe shipped functionality, not a roadmap. All of it was built for the German market.

e-Rechnung Inbox

Our own product for the German e-invoicing obligation: it produces ZUGFeRD and XRechnung from PDFs, scans and email. Processing in the Frankfurt region, hosting inside the EU.

OzyCore Gastro

Multi-tenant SaaS for German hospitality: each business takes online orders under its own brand. Web, white-label iOS and SUNMI receipt hardware.

Türkçe Gündem

Our own news platform for the Turkish-speaking diaspora, combining a German context with Turkish-language content in one product.

This site itself

German, English and Turkish run from one codebase, each with its own URL, its own canonical and its own hreflang set.

When this fits and when it does not

This page describes a service, not a solution that suits every company. The comparison saves both sides time.

Good starting point

  • You have started selling in Germany, or are about to
  • You have a product, but it does not behave the way German customers expect
  • Invoicing, accounting handover or data processing has landed on your desk
  • You need a technical counterpart who can work in German

Probably not a fit

  • You are looking for a single document or a one-off filing
  • The Germany plan is still undecided and the scope is open
  • You are expecting a ready-made off-the-shelf solution
  • Nobody on your side will own the project

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover company formation, accounting and legal work as well?

Yes, but it is worth being exact about who does what. OzyCore is a software and digital marketing company and does not itself provide tax or legal advice. Company formation and ongoing accounting run through our partner practice, regulated tax work is carried out by a licensed partner firm, and legal questions go to partner law firms. What changes for you is that you deal with one contact instead of assembling that group yourself.

How does the e-invoicing obligation affect us?

In Germany e-invoicing is not optional. The hard part is not the format but the flow: producing the invoice correctly from your own system, handing it to accounting and archiving it in an audit-proof way. We built our own product for exactly this and apply the same approach to your existing system.

Where is our data processed?

In the architecture we build, processing happens in the Frankfurt region and hosting stays inside the EU. To be explicit: some of the cloud providers we use are US-headquartered companies even when the region is European. So we do not claim to avoid US services; we show which service runs in which region.

Which language will we work in?

Whichever you prefer. The team works in English, German and Turkish. In practice most companies run technical discussions in their own language and correspondence with German counterparts in German; both work in the same project.

We already have a site and systems. Do we start over?

No, and usually starting over is the wrong move. We first establish where the existing setup fails against German requirements; often the invoicing flow or the data handling can be fixed on its own. Rebuilding everything is the most expensive and riskiest path.
